Remember: Pick Up and Drop Off Rules

When picking up, dropping off or waiting for a child, please beware of the traffic patterns and rules created to keep all children safe.

Students can be dropped off on Jefferson School Drive. If you plan to wait with your child, you must park on a side street or in the visitor parking lot in front of the school. Parents who wait with their children along the curb on Jefferson School Drive create a backup of traffic and an un-safe drop off for other parents and their children.

Jefferson School Drive is available for parking 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. For pick up at the end of the day, you may stop along the curb on Jefferson School Drive until your child joins you. Visitors and parents should only stop next to curbs that are not painted yellow and must stay with their vehicle. Follow all signs that are posted to prevent traffic backups. Many parents have arranged separate meeting areas on side streets.

Above all, be patient. I have watched traffic patterns at Jefferson for seven years. Drop off or pick up does not take a lot of time. I am in contact with the Janesville Police Department who also help keep our students safe by making sure everyone follows the patterns and rules described above.

When everyone puts student safety first, the procedures work. If you have any questions please let our school office know.

Mr. Krueger
